I read an article that provides many type of advertisement at http://en.wikipedia.org and one of them is “Product Placement”.
Advertising is a way to reveal or show to the audience about something brands or product. Product placement or embedded marketing is type of advertising on how to promote the some products. Product placement is use a real commercial product or brands that its presence is the result of economic exchange, and it’s not call economic exchange if the product is not part of it.
Product placement appears in many ways, such as film, music video, video games and so on. This occurs when the logo’s brand was combining and it is done without reveal clearly. This type of advertising most on form in movie and television and recently on computer and also video games.
Product placement was initially since 1980 but can be traced that it was since nineteenth century. It was started when the novel “Around the World in Eighty Days” was published where transport and shipping companies lobbied to be mention in the story. The other examples like “Wings”, “It’s a Wonderful Life”, “Mr. Ed” and cartoon also “Shorties Wathin’ Shorties”. All these films were using through product placement.
Furthermore, there is also called “brand integration”, incorporate or combination of products are occur. This happen when the sponsor wants to promote two things in one time. Product placement in computer or video games also exists, and sometime the maker has to use the real sport teams and player in order to make it great. Recently, product placement in online video is becoming common and familiar. Online agencies will connect to the online video producer, that usually individuals with brands and advertisers.
