CHAPTER 6: COMING AGE IN JAPAN
I have read an article entitled 'coming age in Japan' written by David Weber. The author write about coming of age ceremony in Japan called SEIJIN-NO-HI. This ceremony is celebrate on second Monday of January when the girls and boys turn 20 year old. They are formally become and adult and have a right to vote ,getting married without parent premission and drink alcohol. This colourful ceremony turn a national day. The teenagers visit the shrine and listen speechess from the government representative.
In my oppinion, the Japanese teenagers nowadays are not understand about the spirit of this ceremony. Many of them are busy to show off their expensive kimono having their picture taken. After the ceremony, they enjoys having parties with their friends to celebrate the freedom and their legal alcohol drink. In addition, also waste money because they spend around hundreds or even thousands dollars to buy the expensive kimono.
In contras, this is the Japanese value in their comonity so that they feel happy to celebarte it.

WHY?? because this article story about the evolution of coming of age rituals that means “our society found a new way to come of age” said by George Foreman for example that way college. That means college is a time of self-discovery, a time for finding oneself.. Another that, Anthropologist marvel at the role that nihilistic drunkenness plays in the instruction of America’s young adults. “In one popular ritual, the initiate ingests a sacred intoxicant laced with a powerful, non-herbal stimulant, while letting out a cry of” said that by Jager bombs. Firstly, Use Genuine Encounter Moments (GEMS), Use Action, Not Words, Give Children Appropriate Ways to Feel Powerful, Use Natural Consequences, Use Logical Consequences, Be Kind and Firm at the Same Time ,Separate the Deed from the Doer, Withdraw from Conflict, Parent with the End in Mind, and Be Consistent, Follow Through. With this keys, we can teach them with much victory. It is because children sure a precious this for us, we need to take care of them so they will face their own glory in a future. The language at this article are medium and suitable for any level of age. So, I suggest to all parent, try to use this key to be a good parent.

The next article that I read entitle "Going global with Your Career". This article written by Bill George. I think this article is good and very informative for those who want to get more exposure and experience in their career in the international. The writer give some of the guidance regarding to the step of being global with career. I am absolutely agree with this writer about the foreign language skills. Nowadays we know that English Language is the first language which have been used by the peoples all around of this world. So it is compulsory for us to empower this significant language especially when we in a workplace because it will help us in communication. No matter what we must speak in English Language to whom we want and to have a deal to since we are in a workplace.The other guidances and tips like specialize and build up the network which it can improve our skills to be a socialize person and mix with the others such as our business partner and so on. Besides that, the tip such as take it as it comes and do not be fussy means we should take the chances without make any choices either it is easy or tough on us. The fourth article is about "Make Use of UITM Design Grads". Actually this article is from Berita Harian newspaper. In my opinion, the effort of UITM's gradute students to be the furniture makers and designers are very useful. This is because after the graduation it will encourage them to improve and expand their skills in making the furniture or the other stuff through the marketing. Perhaps, they can go far into the international marketing. By this way, they can be a successful entrepeneur in the future. However it is not easy as we think about because they have to know the strategy of planning and the requirement of the marketing. So they have to attend the activities such as courses, seminar or workshop regarding to how to be successful entrepreneur. After that they have to make a deeply survey and thoroughly in order to know where is the opportunity which they can market their products. The most important is they must have links with the other countries to make it easier for them to communicate and deal in business network in order to introduce their products especially the local products into the international market. To conclude I just want to stand with my opinion that this article is so good especially for the UITM's students which it will encourage them to study in this institution and develop their skills in making the sophisticated stuff. Meanwhile, for those who are in searching the IPT that they want to further their study, it is very useful for them to make this IPT as the best choice. In the meantime the government should support this effort because of the development of this country in economy and education fields. Therefore, the government should encourage not anly this IPT but the others IPT too in marketing their products or skills into the international level over the time and space.

The tv commercial that i liked most is "Why Do I Liked My House" written by Yasmin Ahmad which fetures an off-the-cuff interview with a boy who loves his home.This commercial is made a conjunction with Merdeka celebrations.

The title that i read is Identity Problems of Non-native Teachers of English in Teacher Education return by Mehmet Demirezen.In my opinion that issue of ethnic identity of foreign language teching and learning is a nagging problem in terms of using certain traits of language 1 as an international language right.I think that non-native speaking foreign or second language teachers dont have identity problems and have the right to keep a foreign accented pronunciation and intonation when teaching.The topic of language and etchnicity is a controversial one. Two fundamental trends in scholarship exist.The first trend denies any direct or necessary link between language and ethnic identity.The second trend stresses that language is a true marker and vehicle of ethnic identity as an essential criterion along with cultural heritage,history,assumptions,values,religion institutions and beliefs.In my opinion also said the conclusion that non-native speaking teachers should not retain a foreign accent in their foreign language teaching profession as a foreign language right. So,what do you think about the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympic 2008 Games on Friday night?Its a decent show for me,not great..but nice.The ceremony started off well.The fou(the drum like instrument)performanced manage to draw the crowded attention,the giant foodsteps fireworks were cool,beautiful,and the countdown managed to boost the mood very well.After that,came the splendid fireworks followed by the normally of flag raised and national anthem singing.The masterpiece of the show was reveled after that..the giant paper scroll was quite captivating at first.The performanced keep me in front on the tv,but things started to turn boring because a few reasons..firstly,over artistic.This is a masterful art show,which Zhang Yimou is really good act,no question about that..but the reason why the likes of (trasformers) or (dark night) are selling better than `babel`.Its about appealing the mass .The performances look very well,but when the most parts of the show were thought provoking..it became a bit too tiring to still watch it..Secondly,reason that i started to turn boring its because over dependent on the scroll.It was creative idea to start with its but everything seemed to be revolved on the scroll..lack of variety obviously...ok..i think its enough..last but not least,overall i`ll like a great ending for the show and i`ll like to the opening ceremony..

My opinion about olympic Beijing 2008 .Multi spot to compete this year.More 40 spot to compete.Celebrate olympic Beijing very interesting ,wonderful,beutiful and colouring. The theme of olympic Beijing is a bird as if bird can be fly.The opening olympic Beijing at National Stadium on August 8,2008.Multi country come to celebrate it.Different for the last year, this year very hilarious.Multi mascourt describe proudly at the Beijing.It also can be introduce new spot for example traditional spot''sepak takrow''.

Olympic
Olympic is the most fabulous sports.It gathering people from all over the world.This international sports festivel held every four years in a different country. In my opinion , this occasion is very marvelous. It manure nation spirit in our heart.For example, eventhough ourv badminthin athelet is a Chinese but we also proud wiht his achievement because he is Malaysian. For China, they are so lucky being the choosen country to organize this international sports. Although before this sport began, there are some conflict and demonstration but China goverment can face all this problems. Throuhg this games,they also can gain their economic especilly in tourisme sector. People all over the world come to Beijing and spend million of dollar in this country.They can promote thier history,culture,food and nation.
Futhermore,as a muslim i am very proud with Ruqayyah al Gassra,athlet from Bahrain because she wewring the Muslim VEIL and win the prelimenary contest in 200m for women.Hopefully this event will united all nation in a peace.

International Olimpics Beijing
International Olympics Sports in Beijing is occuring.The olympics held in every 4 years. In my opinion, Beijing Olympics Games are set to become the biggest broadcast event in olympics history. It is because, there is an unprecedented volume of olympics sports content available with around 5000 hours of coverage provided for viewers in around 200 countries. The opening ceremony of the game as a sport-related event with the highest broadcast rating for the Chinese television. I did think, the opening ceremonies were very beautiful and colourful. The person who weren involved wrangly nearly 15,000 cast and crew. All of the performers were practised to did the opening ceremonies was almost 1 years. When i saw the opening ceremonies event, in my mind " it was so greated" because tha'ts looks perfected.
As a Malaysian citizens, of course i want to see Malaysia Team in Beijing will be win in all category or event and will get more gold medal than the past olympics. First, i was target that badminton event wii win the medal gold by our men's single, Lim Chong Wei. My target was almost be a reality, but at the final game, he just got a silver medal and the winner was Lin Dan, player from Korea. But it's alright, and as a Malaysian Citizen i'm very proud of our athlete, Chong Wei. And then, i target Malaysiia can get medal gold depend on Taekwondo exponents, Elaine Teo and Che Chew Chan. I think, only Elaine and Chew Cha, have realistic chances of winning medals for Malaysia. It is because, before this their performance in every their games was very consistence. I hope they will win gold medal in their games at olympics sports Beajing and it is a present to all Malaysian citizens.

my influence
my mother was an important influnce on as a child.there are three characterristic that i like about her.firstly,she was a loving mother,for example,she never angry with me if i do something wrong but she give me the second chance to improve my mistake.more ever,she also a caring mother.since i child she always take care of me when i sick.and lastly,she also hard working person.she always do all house jobsuch as wash the clothers,cooking,clean the houseand others.until now,my mother behaviour was an important thing that influence me......

But -- hold on -- it's not necessarily as bad as you think.The faked fireworks were actually set-off at the stadium, but because of potential dangers in filming the display live from a helicopter, viewers at home were shown a pre-recorded, computer-generated shot. It sounds dishonest, but I'm not sure it's such a terrible thing.The Opening Ceremony is, at its core, just one big performance. And isn't it accepted that some things might not be legit at a performance? The final torch bearer wasn't actually running around the top of the stadium, does the fact that everyone could figure that out make it any less impressive? It might have been unnecessarily deceptive, but the firework-faking isn't really that big of a deal. I read an article on title tips for avoiding beginner's frustration,written by Curtis West.In this article the writer give us the tips how to learn language faster.He said the important way to learn language faster is focus on the process,celebrate your accomplishment,bring study resources,embrace the past and talk with your mother.There are much way to improve the language such as memorize the grammar properly.And i want to suggest something that we need to take serious.There is do some practice everyday and don't leave it until you are master in that language.....reviewed by Nur Adila

When i think Malaysia will get a gold medal and in what sport?
I think Malaysia will never get a gold medal from Olympics Beijing or any event that involve a many countries. Many reasons and causes that Malaysia will not get the gold medal.First, the physical of Malaysian body is smaller than the people who live in West Country. For example, in athletics event. In any athletics event, Malaysia has never won.
Another reason is their discipline has not enough strong. I said before because they were late to come training and not listen any commands from coach regarding the news in 2004-I guess.
Moreover, they easy to demoralization. I will give an example, in football sport, they never chosen to join the final world championships. In this champion, there are a famous team in the world such as Liverpool, Mancester United, and Chelsea, Real Madrid, Arsenal and others.

Who Was An Influence On You As A Child?
Salam to everybody! This week i just want to share with all of you regarding to the question of "Who was an influence on you as a child?" If you want to know who is my idol, he is my eldest brother. He is a teacher exactly he is a "ustaz "in a primary school. Amongst in our siblings he is the most educated person. Even he is just an ordinary and simple person, but he was influence me to be better than him. Actually since i was young, i loved to ask him about my studies such as about my spelling in "Jawi's" sentences because i liked to write in this handwriting. Exactly he is not close with us because he was lived and grow up with my grandma and grandpa since he was young. So, he got more experiences and skills from my grandma especially in sewing and cooking. Besides that he loved to renovate our house and his room when he want to do so. The best attitude that i love about him is he is a very tidy person and very responsible on his duty as the eldest brother. Furthermore, he really love to be in cleanliness all the time. He will angry and mad with us, especially toward us his sisters if we do not do the chores. However, he did not forced us to do all the kinds of thing because he preferred to do by himself.Maybe he did not satisfied if we did by ourselves, i guess.He was a very strict person more than my parents.I was very scared with him since i was young. But nowadays, after he get married and become older he is very generous, friendly and be closer with us than before. Now, i feel very proud to be better than him because i am in a higher institution right now.Thank God. In the same time, he is studing in the higher institution too in UKM but some of his characteristic not change at all. I am very proud to be his sister.
